Beaulieu Park station animation

Beaulieu Park is a new railway station serving a growing community in Essex. Murphy Group needed a way to show the finished scheme clearly, to stakeholders and audiences who would never read an engineering drawing. We produced a CGI animation of the station, built from the project's real engineering data rather than an artist's impression.

The challenge

Major infrastructure schemes are designed in engineering models that only engineers can read. For everyone else, the scheme stays abstract until it is built, which makes it harder to communicate what is coming, why it matters, and what it will feel like to use.

Murphy wanted the new station to be understood long before opening day, and asked us to bring the design to life.

What we built

We built the animation directly from Murphy's engineering models, working from MicroStation and DWG data, so the geometry on screen is the real design, not an approximation. From that base we developed storyboards, camera moves, and motion graphics that walk the viewer through the station and its setting.

The result is a clean, accurate CGI film of the completed scheme, produced between August 2024 and March 2025, which Murphy uses to communicate the project.

The outcome

The animation gives Murphy a single, accurate way to show the finished station, and it is in use as the scheme's communication piece.
